Chicago, IL – As millions of people around the world recognize Earth Day, Chicagoans are getting informed and involved. Chicago City Colleges organized events at their Truman College and Harold Washington College campuses, and invited Commissioner Mariyana Spyropoulos to talk to approximately 200 students about the importance of protecting our drinking water, as well as how MWRD invests in sustainability.

“It was refreshing to see so many students engaged in Earth Day activities and genuinely wanting to make a difference. Each of us can do a small part that will make a huge impact on the planet. At MWRD, every single day is Earth Day. We are continually looking for ways to protect the environment and be good stewards of our natural resources”, said Commissioner Spyropoulos.
