DELAWARE COUNTY COURTHOUSE & GOVERNMENT CENTER MEDIA, PA – On March 25, 2015 Delaware County Council adopted a resolution welcoming the 24th Hermes Expo International to Delaware County and honoring the Hermes Expo participants and honorees. This resolution was adopted on the 194th Anniversary of Greek Independence Day, whereby Chairman Mario Civera Jr. acknowledged Paul Kotrotsios, Founder and President of the Hermes Expo, and the Greek American community for their contributions to Delaware County.  Chairman of Delaware County Council Mario J. Civera Jr. stated, “We are happy to have the Hermes Expo in Delaware County and we urge the citizens of Delaware County to join us in supporting the effort that helps strengthen the economy of our county and the nation and contributes toward a strong positive relationship among the participating nations.”

The members of County Council presided over the event and included Chairman Mario Civera Jr., Vice Chairman Colleen P. Morrone, Councilman John P. McBlain, Councilman David J. White, Councilman Michael Culp. Each councilmember shared their support and enthusiasm for the Greek culture and Greek American community as an important facet of a vibrant Delaware County. The Honorable Judge Mackrides was also present and honored as a distinguished member of the Delaware County community. Honorary Phil-Hellene, and Delaware County Senior Medical Advisor Dr. George Avetian was present in support of the resolution. County Council also acknowledged the Hermes Expo Awards Honorees Dr. Angelo Karakasis of Apex Medical Rehab in Upper Darby, who has 27 years of experience in Chiropractic rehabilitation, and Dr. Nicholas Hadgis, the Dean of the Hospitality Management School at the Widener University in Chester.

There will also be the Hermes Awards Dinner beginning at 5:30 PM where distinguished contributors and members of the community will be honored.
