Major issues of education were discussed at the Greek Teachers Association “Prometheus” meeting on Saturday, November 12th afternoon in the Hellenic Cultural Center of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America located at 27-09 Crescent Street, Astoria. Very Rev. John Antonopoulos performed a prayer and presented his views on Greek American education.
Mrs. Stella Kokolis, President of the Pan-American Federation of Greek Teachers, discussed the positive initiative of providing medical care for Greek educators by the Hellenic Medical Society of New York. A Pan-American Federation of Greek Teachers Conference will be held in Florida from January 5th-7th 2012.
Prometheus will hold its next meeting on Saturday afternoon, on December 17th at 4 p.m., in the Hellenic Cultural Center. Elections will be held. For information, email President Vasiliki Filiotis at [email protected].
