Since the beginning of 2015, more than 800,000 refugees and migrants passed through the Greek islands of the Eastern Aegean Sea on their way to Europe for a better future. The residents of islands like Lesvos, Chios, Kos and Samos, among others, were quick to respond and provide comfort to the thousands of the stranded men, women and children.
The residents and the volunteers of the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for their humane contributions aiding the refugee crisis, thought Stephen K. from USA and started a petition in Avaaz.org which has already been signed by more than 200.000 people.
