Inspections at businesses in East Attica following a large fire were completed on Wednesday by the Attica Region Committees for State Assistance.
The inspectors found that 10 businesses in the farming sector of East Attica were damaged, including 8 hothouses, 1 plant nursery, and a livestock breeding facility. They will each receive an initial compensation of 2,000-4,000 euros each.
At another 19 businesses in the northern sector of Athens, 7 were found shut or inaccessible and will be revisited on Friday, and 1 is having its license inspected. Of the 19, 9 will be compensated initially with 2,000-4,000 euros.
Inspections began on Wednesday morning and were completed 2 days earlier than expected initially, following a decision by the extended government meeting on Tuesday held at the Climate Crisis & Civil Protection Ministry and chaired by the prime minister.
