Members of Leonidas Chapter 77 in Binghamton, NY had an idea to promote their chapter and give to their community this holiday season by promoting and self-funding a coat drive for needy local school children. With the preliminary work done by James Anastos, who reached out to two school guidance counselors and discussed the idea he received needed coat sizes for the K-5 classes. After identifying the needed boys and girls sizes for K-5 and 6th through 8th grade classes, James built a worksheet and assigned chapter members sets of the needed coats they should get. From that, members headed out to local stores and began purchasing them.
