Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianides is in Rome on Tuesday to hold a series of meetings.
Specifically, he will meet with the head of Italy’s Civil Protection Fabrizion Curzio as well as with Deputy Interior Minister Carlo Sibilia and with the leadership of the Italian Fire Brigade.
He will also meet with the Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani.
In the context of his visit to Rome, Stylianides will have the opportunity to exchange views on organisation and operational matters of common interest as well as prevention and limitation of the consequences of the climate crisis ahead of the fire period that has already started and of the common challenges that both countries are facing in the field of forest protection.
In parallel, he will discuss the last details on the Greece-Italy cooperation memorandum in the sector of civil protection.
It is noted that Greece and Italy have a close cooperation at bilateral level against natural disasters while very close is also their cooperation in the context of the European Civil Protection Mechanism and of rescEU.
