October 17, 2016 (Springfield, Pa) – Crozer-Keystone Health System has planned a range of activities in November to raise awareness and provide education about lung cancer and how it can be prevented and treated. Nov. 4: Lung Cancer Awareness Month Kick Off with Information Tables

  • Crozer-Chester Medical Center (cafeteria), Delaware County Memorial Hospital (cafeteria), and Crozer-Keystone Regional Cancer Center at Broomall (inside main entrance) will have information tables regarding the importance of lung cancer screenings. All CKHS employees are asked to wear white. Free soft pretzels and gifts will be available.
    • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Nov. 9: Information Table: “Who, What, When & Why’s of Lung Cancer Screenings”

  • GIANT Food Store, 721 W. Sproul Road, Springfield
    • 12 to 2 p.m.

 

Nov. 10: Educational Program: “Who, What, When & Why’s of Lung Cancer Screenings”

  • Learn about the importance of lung cancer screenings and how the lung cancer screening program at Crozer-Keystone is saving lives.
  • Crozer-Keystone Regional Cancer Center at Brinton Lake, 500 Evergreen Drive, Glen Mills
  • 5:30 p.m., Registration and light refreshments
  • 6:00 p.m., Program led by Kerri Clay, PA-C and Patti Hollenback, R.N., BSN, OCN, Nurse Navigator

 

Nov. 15: Educational Program: “Who, What, When & Why’s of Lung Cancer Screenings”

  • Learn about the importance of lung cancer screenings and how the lung cancer screening program at Crozer-Keystone is saving lives.
  • Haverford Township Free Library, 1601 Darby Road, Havertown
  • 12 p.m., Patti Hollenback, R.N., BSN, OCN, Nurse Navigator

 

Nov. 19: FREE Comprehensive Screening Event

  • Springfield Hospital, 190 W. Sproul Road, Springfield, Main lobby
    • 8:30 a.m., Registration and continental breakfast
    • 9-11:30 a.m., Screenings to include (subject to change): glucose/cholesterol (fasting is required), prostate and PSA, breast exams, walk in mammograms (please provide insurance information, we also have grant funding for those uninsured), podiatry, blood pressure, bone density, sleep disorder, information on lung and colorectal cancers, and free flu shots!

 

Nov. 30: Crozer-Keystone Shine the Light on Lung Cancer Event

  • A panel discussion focused on the benefits of screenings, early detection and advocacy for friends and family members. This event is in collaboration with the Lung Cancer Alliance.
  • Crozer-Keystone Regional Cancer Center at Broomall, 30 Lawrence Road, Community Room
  • 5:30 p.m., Registration and light refreshments
  • 6 p.m., Program featuring Crozer-Keystone physicians and current patients
