The Greek National Defence Ministry’s pavilion at the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) that is underway (Sep.10-18) in the northern Greek city, was visited on Monday by the French Consul General in Thessaloniki Sandrine Mouchet.
The French diplomat visited a Rafale fighter jet flight simulator, later telling Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) that “it’s like you’re really in flight, among an actual squadron of planes!”, she exclaimed.
Referring to the recent strategic defence agreement signed by Greece and France, which includes Greece’s procurement of Rafales and of Belhara frigates, she thanked “ our Greek friends for choosing French technology,” and that the Greek ministry’s display at TIF 2022 “ reflects our excellent bilateral relations.”
At a relevant discussion panel held at the Thessaloniki Helexpo Forum on the day, titled ‘Greece-France: Bilateral Industrial Cooperation’, TIF-Helexpo CEO Kyriakos Pozrikidis noted his hope that France be TIF’s country of honor soon enough.
The panel also explored the field of space and its relation to the defence industry, as well as new prospects for cooperation between Greece and France in the specific business and the relevant technologies.
