Dear Paul,
Please accept my warmest congratulations for the 35th anniversary of the Hellenic News of America. What you have managed to accomplish over the last three and a half decades is nothing short of remarkable. Several of us who knew you from the early planning stages of your media company vividly remember your passion to create a publication that would bring the Greek Diaspora in America together and, perhaps more importantly, instill the Hellenic ideals into the hearts and minds of the 2nd and 3rd generations of Greek-Americans.
To some this sounded as an elusive dream like those that fade away when touched by the sunlight of reality. But you proved the skeptics wrong. With hard work, determination, and unfailing support from just a small group of talented individuals who shared this vision — primarily your dynamic wife Linda and your three tireless daughters — you overcame all adversities and reached your noble goal of making the Hellenic News of America a truly “unifying force for Hellenism.”
I take the opportunity to also congratulate you for the recent 30th celebration of Hermes Expo International. Under your leadership “Hermes” has become a major institution for our “Omogenia” and beyond. The largest public attraction of “Hermes” remains the exhibit of products and services from participating nations. But, the greatest value of this annual event, at least for the “Omogenia”, is undoubtedly in the face-to-face meetings U.S. and Greek-American businessmen have with businessmen from Greece and Cyprus. These meetings provide them with opportunities to get to know each other, develop new economic ties and expand their businesses. The benefit to both sides is invaluable.
I wish you continued success with the Hellenic News of America and Hermes Expo International.
Best always,
George Bistis
