By Chris Pappis, AHEPA D6 Secretary

George Papaeleas AHEPA Chapter 367 of Washington Heights held a monthly meeting on October 4, 2020 virtually via Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The chapter was named after the founder established on February 1, 1950 and will be celebrating their 70th anniversary this year.

The chapter normally meets at the church and has added three new members over the year. Among items discussed were the national incentive to enlist new members before the end of the year along with ways members could keep in touch with both national and District 6 during this difficult period. This included e-mails and virtual district meetings along with panel discussions. They will continue to hold virtual meetings for the foreseeable future. We were happy to welcome Rev. Fr. George Kazoulis for his first chapter meeting and look forward to welcoming him into the organization as a new member.

In attendance, was District 6 Secretary Chris Pappis along with Rev. Fr. George Kazoulis who is the new Parish Priest of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church located at 124 Wadsworth Avenue in New York, NY.  The unanimously re-elected officers for 2020-2021 are President and Secretary George Chokos, Vice President George Patsalos, and Treasurer George Tsikalas.
