WASHINGTON (January 28, 2022)—Daughters of Penelope (DOP) Grand President Kathy Bizoukas met with her representative, U.S. Rep. Frank Mrvan (D-IN), to discuss the public policy agenda impacting the DOP’s community service programs, at the congressman’s district office, January 26, 2022.
“On behalf of the Daughters of Penelope membership, I sincerely thank Congressman Mrvan for the generous time he afforded me to discuss the work of Daughters chapters in the community,” Grand President Bizoukas said. “We look forward to working with them on our policy priorities, which include support for domestic violence shelters and affordable housing for seniors, among others.”
In addition, Grand President Bizoukas thanked Congressman Mrvan, who is in his first term, for his engagement with the Greek American community which included his joining the Order of AHEPA and becoming a member of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues.
The mission of the DOP is to promote the ancient Greek ideals of Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, and Family and Individual Excellence through community service and volunteerism. It is an affiliate organization of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (Order of AHEPA).
