It is without a doubt that dance music has evolved in so many ways; from the glory days of disco with Saturday Night Fever, to the breakdancing days of Freestyle to the current raves with house and techno, it has gone through so many changes. Technology has opened a door to various ways to produce and create dance music. The older generation recalls the 8-tracks, to boomers who grew up with cassettes and vinyl then to CD’s and now all streaming. It’s enough to make you dizzy.

DJ / Artist, ARKETEK aka Konstantinos was introduced to much of the advances in music by the one who influenced him the most, his father. It was almost a tradition in Konstantinos home that him and his dad would spend evenings listening to everything from classic rock to disco to Greek pop music. But the music that drew him in the most was house music. A genre that was founded by legends like Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Chip E., Marshall Jefferson, Phuture, and more.

Before he dived headfirst into the music industry he studied Architectural Engineering. While in school he came up with his stage name, ARKETEK, which was a play on what he studied in college. This is when he made it his goal to make his mark in the house music world. ARKETEK would soon link up with well-known DJ / Remixer Dimitri Tee and producer Matt McCue in the recording studio. Along the way he would create a musical friendship with the legendary DJ Glenn Friscia.  As his journey evolved, he has had the pleasure of working on a virtual studio session with Chicago’s own Greek American house music artist, DJ Georgie Porgie.

Since being of Greek heritage, ARKETEK has traveled to Greece and discovered that the Greek youth love house and techno music. This was an eye-opener for him, and he plans on building on that knowledge to bring his music and sound overseas. Now he is planning on dropping his debut remix release under the label Robotika Music this fall. The track is a remix of an older vocal house single from long ago and he put his own spin on it, creating a melodic techno masterpiece.
Konstantinos / ARKETEK, is building his name and growing with each beat. It is also a plus for him as house and techno music have become more emersed in the mainstream.

“I always loved music so when I got into DJing it just felt right.
But when I finally got into the studio and started creating music, that’s when I truly felt my journey really began.  I saw a blank canvas with unlimited possibilities, and I really fell in love with the freedom of being able to remix my favorite songs and produce my own original tracks.”

His new track is due to create a buzz when it drops this Fall. From New York to Mykonos ARKETEK is looking to plant flags with his banging music with nothing standing in his way. Check out the links below to experience his unique sound.
