The turnover index in the industrial sector (measuring both the domestic and external market) jumped 31.6 pct in August compared with the same month last year, after a 14.8 pct decline recorded in the same months in 2020-2019, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Wednesday.
The statistics service, in a report, attributed this development to a 31.8 pct jump in the manufacturing turnover index and a 13.4 pct rise in the mining turnover index. The external market turnover index jumped 38.1 pct in August while the domestic market index rose 28.2 pct. The industrial turnover index fell 17.1 pct in August from July 2021.
