The Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is a culminating fact in Christian theology. The mother of all celebrations, the hope and light for millions of our planet’s inhabitants, that, for reasons of a change in the calendar some centuries ago, is being celebrated at different dates by the Christian Churches, confessions and religious entities. By sheer calendar coincidence, in 2017, Easter shall be celebrated by all on Sunday, April 16.
The Inter parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (IAO), wishing to welcome this fortuitous but highly symbolic fact and to contribute to the efforts to find a way to jointly celebrate this central event in the Christian “eortologio” or Christian celebrations calendar, decided to organise an international icon painting competition with the title “THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST”.

The five winners shall be invited to the city where the Annual General Assembly will take place around the end of June 2018. This event will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the IAO’s foundation. This is where the exhibition will be inaugurated and open its doors to the public and the prizes handed over to the winners. The names of all the participating artists shall be written up and they will also appear in the two-volume work to be published on the occasion.

Ανοιχτή προκήρυξη του διεθνούς διαγωνισμού εικονογραφικής τέχνης με θέμα:
«Η ΑΝΑΣΤΑΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΙΗΣΟΥ»
| Κορυφαία, κυρίαρχη στιγμή της Χριστιανικής θεολογίας, είναι το γεγονός της Ανάστασης του Ιησού Χριστού. Η εορτή των εορτών, ελπίδα και φως για εκατομμύρια κατοίκους του πλανήτη, που όμως τους τελευταίους αιώνες, λόγω αλλαγής του ημερολογίου, εορτάζεται από της χριστιανικές Εκκλησίες, ομολογίες και θρησκευτικές οντότητες, σε διαφορετικές ημερομηνίες. Το τρέχον έτος 2017 κατά ημερολογιακή συγκυρία, το Πάσχα εορτάζεται από όλους την Κυριακή 16 Απριλίου.
Η Διακοινοβουλευτική Συνέλευση Ορθοδοξίας (Δ.Σ.Ο.), θέλοντας να χαιρετίσει αυτό το τυχαίο αλλά τόσο συμβολικό γεγονός του κοινού εορτασμού και να συμβάλει στις προσπάθειες αναζήτησης τρόπου κοινού εορτασμού της κεντρικής αυτής εορτής του χριστιανικού εορτολογίου, αποφάσισε να προκηρύξει διεθνή διαγωνισμό εικονογραφικής τέχνης (iconpainting competition) με θέμα “Η ΑΝΑΣΤΑΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΙΗΣΟΥ”.

Δύο έπαινοι από 500 ευρώ ο καθένας ( 2 x 500 € )
Οι πέντε νικητές θα κληθούν και θα φιλοξενηθούν στην πόλη που θα αποφασιστεί να γίνει η Γενική Ετήσια Συνέλευση περί τα τέλη Ιουνίου του 2018. Οι εκδηλώσεις θα συμπέσουν με 25η επέτειο από την ίδρυση της ΔΣΟ. Εκεί θα εγκαινιασθεί και η έκθεση που θα ανοίξει για το κοινό και θα δοθούν στους νικητές τα ανάλογα βραβεία. Στην έκθεση, όπως και στο δίτομο έργο που θα εκδοθεί, θα αναφέρονται τα ονόματα όλων των δημιουργών.
Η συμμετοχή στο διαγωνισμό είναι δωρεάν και οι δηλώσεις συμμετοχής πρέπει να παραληφθούν μεταξύ 15 Μαΐου και 30 Ιουλίου 2017.
