The Labour and Social Affairs Ministry is planning the restart of the housing policy with regulations included in the bill “Jobs Again” which was tabled recently in parliament.
Speaking to Athens-Macedonian News Agency Labour Minister Kostis Hatzidakis stated that one of the most important interventions in the bill is the establishment of the Public Employment Service (as the Manpower Employment Organisation will be renamed), as the main pillar for the implementation of the public housing policy that will be enhanced with special focus on the young people.
Hatzidakis said that the regulations will allow the Public Employment Service to take advantage of 1.5 billion euros reserves to support the workforce of the country with new tools apart from those already used.
“I speak of real estate concessions with low rent which the worker will be able to buy in some years, rent subsidy, interest subsidy and other actions. It is another aspect of the Labour Ministry’s social policy”, underlined Hatzidakis.
As Hatzidakis said, the bill “Jobs Again” will enhance the active employment policies with innovations as the job allowance which is adopted for the first time.
The bill also provides regulations for the active support of the unemployed, particularly the long-term unemployed with new digital tools in order to be integrated in the labour market.
