Dear Editor:
The very deeply informative “September 1955” article in the current September 2018 issue is well indicative why the Hellenic News of America has been the Voice of the Hellenic Omogeneia for the past 31 years. It is the only communications medium of the tri-state area — and beyond — that informs and provides an exchange of ideas and happenings, something that needs to be emulated on a much wider areas scale.
The “September 1955” article brought forth very significant details of a matter that has haunted both Hellenism and international relations for 61 years. It is an issue that must be become known and be pursued by the younger generations with the objective to “never happen again.”
The author, Leonidas Koumakis, has put together a well-referenced document with extensive details. However, it would have been very useful if the organization of which he is a “Member” — IHA — was identified, rather than simply by its initials, so that contact could be made if desired by interested readers.
Sincerely,
Dean C. Lomis, Ph.D.
