Peter Paras was born in Florina, Western Macedonia, Greece and completed his undergraduate studies in physics at the University of Athens. He received a Master of Science in Nuclear Science and a Doctorate in Radiation Protection from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was Deputy Director of the Puerto Rico Nuclear Center, and later became Director of the Division of Radioactive Materials and Nuclear Medicine of the Bureau of Radiological Health of the FDA. He received the 1906 Annual Award of the International Electrotechnical Commission in 2005 for developing the performance standards for all Nuclear Medicine Equipment. He is currently pursuing his dream of storytelling, completing his first novel, The Wages of Hate, exposing the
