For the sixth year in a row, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) has been ranked among the top 100 universities in the world in the Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities in the ‘Openness’ category, which is based on the number of Top Google Scholar Citations, according to an announcement.
NKUA, with a total of 2,724,009 citations of its academic staff, has been ranked in 91st worldwide, 18th in Europe, 2nd in the Mediterranean, as well as occupying first place in Greece and the Balkans. The specific ranking includes 7497 universities, including 24 in Greece.
At the top of the ranking are Harvard University, followed by Stanford, California Berkeley and MIT and the UK’s Cambridge University in 5th place.
