December 29, 2016- Athens, Greece:  Athens’ first snowfall illuminates the ceremony of the changing of the guard in honor of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Hellenic Parliament in Syntagma Square. The Presidential Guard, also known as “Evzones”, stand guard around the clock in honor of the Tomb.  As they guard the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, they are as still as can be and undergo a ceremonial transition with two new incoming guards every hour.  The Tomb of the Unknown Solider serves as a memorial for all soldiers killed in war.
