On November 22nd, 2019, the Hellenic Relief Foundation’s monthly distribution of food and goods took place. Around 370 families received the H.R.F.’s monthly basic goods package from the headquarters of the H.R.F. and its partner organization in Greece. Assistance for this distribution was given by the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, as well as the Greek companies that donated basic food staples, etc.
The distribution was headed up by the H.R.F.’s partner organization in Athens, under the organization of Ms. Maria Siourdi, and with the voluntary assistance of Effi Zakka, Soula Belli, Eirini Xakousti, Antonia Pantouvaki, and Emy Spanou.
Goods, such as pasta, milk, frozen milk, and wafers, were also donated by the following companies: N. Konstantopoulou Group, Food Bank, Palirria, Nounou Friesland Campina, and Barilla.
In all, around 400 packages were handed out, including distributions to various organizations, including the Actor’s House, the ΤΑΣΕΗ, the Meropeio nursing home, and more.
The day’s distribution also had greater significance because the organization was gifted a sculpture by noted artist Yiannis Amoryanos entitled “The Butterfly,” a piece in crystal, semi-precious stones, gold, and silver. The organization is grateful for this donation, by a sculptor whose works are exhibited in collections and museums in the US, Europe, and Greece.

To date, approximately 650,000 dollars have been remitted, and with donations within Greece, as well as volunteered social and medicinal services, the true value of the aid is over a million dollars. Στις 22 Νοεμβρίου 2019 πραγματοποιήθηκε η τακτική μηνιαία διανομή τροφίμων και ειδών. Περίπου 370 οικογένειες προσήλθαν στις εγκαταστάσεις της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ-HRF και πήραν τα απαραίτητα τρόφιμα του μήνα προσφορά του HRF. Αρωγοί μας και σε αυτή τη διανομή το Κοινωνικό Παράρτημα του Συλλόγου των Αθηναίων και εταιρείες που προσέφεραν τυποποιημένα τρόφιμα κ.α.
H διανομή πραγματοποιήθηκε με επικεφαλής την υπεύθυνη της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ κα. Μαρία Σιούρδη, τη βοήθεια των εθελοντριών κ.κ. Έφης Ζάκκα, Σούλας Μπέλλη, Ειρήνη Ξακουστή, Αντωνίας Παντουβάκη, Έμυς Σπανού.
Mε προϊόντα τους όπως ζυμαρικά, γάλα, έτοιμα γεύματα, γκοφρέτες ενίσχυσαν τη διανομή οι εταιρείες: Όμιλος Ν. Κωνσταντόπουλου, Τράπεζα Τροφίμων, Παλίρροια, Νουνού Φρήσλαντ Καμπίνα, Barilla.
Συνολικά δόθηκαν περίπου 400 πακέτα τροφίμων διότι ενισχύθηκαν και φορείς όπως το Σπίτι του Ηθοποιού, ΤΑΣΕΗ, το Μερόπειο Γηροκομείο κ.α.
Η σημερινή ημέρα είχε μια ιδιαιτερότητα διότι είχαμε μία προσφορά ενός γλυπτού «Την Πεταλούδα» η οποία είναι δουλεμένη σε κρύσταλλο με ημιπολύτιμους λίθους χρυσό και ασήμι από τον γνωστό γλύπτη ΓΙΑΝΝΗ ΑΜΟΡΓΙΑΝΟ για τους σκοπούς του ΕΛΕΣΘΥ-HRF τον οποίο και ευχαριστούμε ιδιαιτέρως. Τα έργα του Γιάννη Αμοργιανού βρίσκονται, εκτός από ιδιωτικές συλλογές σε μουσεία ης Αμερικής της Ευρώπης και της Ελλάδος.
