Chicago, IL- March 25, 2021, marks the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek struggle for freedom. On the Feast of Annunciation, Greek heroes gathered under the banner of revolution, deciding to take a stand against oppression. Today, we honor the heroes of the Revolution of 1821, who sacrificed their lives to secure liberty for their descendants.
In the video above, our PanHellenic Alumni pay tribute to our heroes by reciting the poems that helped inspire the great struggle for freedom.
Those fighting, with either the sword or the pen, understood that knowledge and education is fundamental to Hellenism. That is why the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation supports and ensures the continuation of Hellenism by working to liberate the minds and encourage the dreams of young Hellenes through education.
