Wantagh – Nick Tangorra Band performed at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on June 13, as part of the BLI Summer Jam, thus kicking off the event.

They opened their set with the upbeat “Save Your Love From Me.” “Jones Beach,” lead singer Nick Tangorra shouted. “How are you guys feeling? We are the Nick Tangorra Band. I want ya’ll to get up out of your seats,” he said, prior to singing the laid-back “Maniac,” which had a neat groove to it.

He subsequently introduced his drummer and brother, Rafe Tangorra, and finished up “Maniac.” “Make some noise, Jones Beach,” Nick Tangorra said, prior to singing the mellow and reggae-flared “Beautiful Thing,” which they incorporated as a crowd sing-along.

Nick thanked all of the audience members for coming out tonight, as well as his parents, and his die-hard fans, which are affectionately dubbed as his “Fangorras.”

It was followed by the brand new single, the up-tempo “I Want You,” which was well received by Digital Journal. Judging from the warm audience feedback from screaming fans, it has the potential to fare well on New York’s local radio stations. They closed their five-song set with the infectious “Juliet,” which was an anthem for the girls in the crowd.

Overall, Nick Tangorra Band was able to warm up the stage for such artists as Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, Tove Lo, R5, and Nick Jonas, among others. It was evident that playing the Jones Beach Theater stage was a career highlight for them, and they nailed it by playing original music. Their show garnered two thumbs up. Well done guys
