This year, Saint Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church in Union, NJ, proudly hosted its annual festival, bringing together parishioners and their American friends from the surrounding neighborhood. Under the dedicated leadership of Father Eugenios Tsaraminidis and Mrs. Betty Spyropoulos, president of the community and chair of the festival the event was a resounding success. Their hard work, along with the efforts of the festival committee, ensured a memorable experience for all attendees.
The festival featured an array of attractions that celebrated Greek culture and traditions. Guests enjoyed live music and traditional Greek dancing, which energized the crowd and created a vibrant atmosphere. Numerous booths offered a wide selection of arts, crafts, and cultural exhibits, showcasing the rich heritage of Greece. The food was a major highlight, with a delicious spread of traditional Greek dishes, including the ever-popular loukoumades, which were a crowd favorite.
Both Father Eugenios and Mrs. Spyropoulos expressed their satisfaction with the turnout, noting that this year’s festival set a high standard for future events. The success of this year’s festival is a testament to the strong sense of community at Saint Dimitrios, which by the way has more than 80 students at the Greek school, as well as the tireless efforts of its leadership and volunteers. As the festival continues to grow, it not only strengthens the bonds within the parish but also extends a warm welcome to the wider community, inviting everyone to share in the beauty of Greek culture.
