Environment and Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas upon his arrival to the EU Environment Ministers Council on Wednesday in Luxembourg expressed the need for an immediate European solution for rising electricity prices.

“Prices for energy have skyrocketed and we must do something together right now at a European level in order to protect the most vulnerable, as well as the European strategy for energy,” stated Skrekas, underlining that the claim made by some that the increasing cost of the energy is the result of the strategy for the transition to the green energy was mistaken.

“The strategy for the green transition will lead to a drop in rates and to lower emissions in order to protect the environment and the planet for the next generations,” said Skrekas.
