The pillars of the draft law on Strengthening Social Protection, which was submitted to the Social Affairs Committee of the Parliament, were presented by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, in charge of Welfare and Social Solidarity, Domna Michailidou, in an interview.
As he said, the bill aims to prevent and deal with child abuse, to establish equal opportunities for all children in kindergartens, to ensure deinstitutionalization, so that no child stays in an institution longer than necessary, and to provide supplies and assistance. to the disabled to achieve their independent living.
“With the bill, submitted to Parliament, we propose a set of provisions that focus on prevention and early detection, the upgrading of social services and the promotion of deinstitutionalization. Our goal is the liberation of social forces and the utilization of the human resources of our homeland. “We do not forget that the greatest wealth of a country is its people and, therefore, in our common path towards the future, no one should be left behind,” said the Deputy Minister of Labor.
