The agenda of Greek-Turkish contacts ahead of the meetings of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara in the spring, and the US travel of Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis were announced by diplomatic sources on Thursday.

On February 2, Greek Deputy FM Kostas Fragogiannis will visit Istanbul, to discuss boosting the positive agenda between Greece and Turkiye. Concurrently, a Greek business delegation will travel to the city to attend a business forum with Turkish business executives and export agencies, to further promote economic collaboration.

On March 11, Greek and Turkish delegations will meet in Ankara headed by Deputy FMs Alexandra Papadopoulou and Burak Akçapar, respectively, ahead of the Mitsotakis-Erdogan meeting expected to be scheduled in April or May.
Mitsotakis and Erdogan are also expected to meet on the sidelines of the NATO Summit meeting in Washington in July.

FM Gerapetritis

FM Gerapetritis’ upcoming schedule includes a meeting on February 6 with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ personal envoy on Cyprus, María Angela Holguín Cuéllar.

On February 9, Gerapetritis will be in Washington to meet with US State Secretary Antony Blinken, to jointly inaugurate the next round of Greece-US Strategic Dialog meetings.

Gerapetritis will then travel to New York to promote Greece’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2025-2026.
