Theodoros Tselidis returned to Athens on Friday after winning a bronze medal in judo at Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In an Instagram post on Saturday, he expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him achieve this significant success. “ I am proud to be Greek and want to apologize for not speaking Greek,” said.
“I want to thank everyone who supported and watched me during the competitions. I am very happy. I did not expect to receive so many messages. I apologize for not being able to respond to all of them. I am very pleased to read such kind words from you. I also want to thank Greece for giving me the opportunity to develop as an athlete. I am very proud to have won the first Olympic medal in these games for this beautiful country. I am proud to be Greek and want to apologize for not speaking Greek. It is something I will correct soon. Additionally, I want to thank Hellenic Olympic Committee, Hellenic Judo Federation, coaches, doctors, physiotherapists and my friends for their help and support. I wish the rest of the Greek delegation good luck. Thank you all again,” said Tselidis.
