Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras visited the Hellenic Authority for Communications Security and Privacy (ADAE) on Wednesday, asking the head of ADAE to give him access to all warrants for the surveillance of political figures, judges and military officers “as a political leader and leader of the main opposition”.
“At some point, the game of hide and seek with the institutions of the democracy comes to an end,” stated Tsipras after the meeting, saying that the reason for his visit to ADAE was to ask for “access to all warrants issued for politicians, MPs, MEPs, journalists, judges and also for the chiefs of the Armed Forces and have been signed in the last three years.”
“We do not play with the country and the institutions of democracy, let alone with national security,” Tsipras underlined.
