Wardrobes for Work seeks to help those who are entering-or re-entering the workplace

by offering them free professional attire

ASTON, PA – The Wardrobes for Work program will be giving away hundreds of gently used men’s and women’s business casual attire and business suits to local residents – free of charge – during an open house at Neumann University on Friday, September 8th from 10 am to 2 pm.  The Wardrobes for Work program is designed to provide support and assistance to Delaware Valley residents in need of workplace suitable clothing but who may face a variety of financial challenges.

“Wardrobes for Work was created to remove one of the financial challenges – having workplace appropriate attire — that individuals may face when they are going on job interviews, reentering the workforce, starting a new job, or maintaining their existing work wardrobe,” said Danielle McNichol, General Counsel and Director of the Center for Leadership at Neumann University.  “Through the generosity of many local businesses, residents, and government offices, we have collected thousands of articles of work clothing over the past few months in a variety of sizes.  We want to help individuals further their careers by giving them access to the workplace attire they need to succeed.”

The Wardrobes for Work program was initiated by Neumann University’s Center for Leadership earlier this year and offers a range of men’s and women’s business suits, dress suits, and casual workplace attire.  In order to ensure that enough clothes are available in a variety of sizes, individuals will be limited to three outfits during the open house, which will take place on Neumann University’s campus on the second floor of the Rocco A. Abessinio Building.

Neumann University is easily accessible by SEPTA and the campus is a stop on the 114 Bus Route.  To plan your trip via public transit, please visit www.septa.org/m/maps/trip.html.

Over the past several months, dozens of local businesses and law firms, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, and Delaware County government offices have helped collect thousands of articles of clothing by placing workplace attire donation boxes in their offices.

Individuals who are unable to make the open house but are in need of workplace attire are encouraged to schedule an appointment by emailing [email protected] or by calling 610-358-4528. Businesses that would like to host a collection box and individuals who would like to make a donation are encouraged to visit the Center for Leadership’s website http://neumannpublicsafety.com/donation-programs/.
