By Dr. Michael Billys,

The inception of this group materialized when Dr. Michael Billys, Coordinator, understood that a ‘prayer group’ was necessary to spearhead a common cause bringing schoolmates together through this recent phenomenon called ZOOM. His schoolmate Dr. Harry Voyages, a life-long friend and schoolmate at Hellenic College from 1967 to 1971, was suffering from Covid-19 and was being assisted by a respirator. Unfortunately, eventually, Dr. Voyages succumbed to this disease, but the group continues to this day to meet & discuss in his blessed memory. The ZOOM Brothers have now met 16 weeks consecutively and vow to continue indefinitely, sharing stories and having fellowship. A grant will be established in the name of DR. HARRY KIMON VOYAGES MEMORIAL GRANT which will also honor all those departed brothers who attended Hellenic College or Holy Cross during this era. The prayer group started with only 4 schoolmates but has now grown to 73 brothers and still counting. The only requirement is that you had attended either Hellenic College or Holy Cross School of Theology in Brookline, MA during the ’60s or ’70s. These schools of higher education are the ‘crown jewel’ of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The ZOOM Brothers meet Monday afternoons at 3 PM EST.

As of now, the ZOOM BROTHERS OF THE ’60s & ’70s AT HC/HC presently consist of: Terry Amarantos, Fr. John Angel, Fr. Nick Anctil, Fr. Demetrios Antokas, Fr.
