Chicago, IL – The submission deadline has passed, and all of the applications are in! January 31, 2017 was the closing date for college students to submit their applications for the PanHellenic Scholarship Awards. The Foundation’s Academic Committee, which is comprised of esteemed university faculty, will soon evaluate the applications. All applicants will be notified of their results by April 30, 2017. A total of $250,000 in scholarships will be awarded once again this year to the most exceptional Greek American undergraduates in the country.
Our scholarship applicants attend many of the most prestigious schools in the country, including Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, Duke, Johns Hopkins, the University of Notre Dame, Boston College, New York University, the University of Illinois, the University of California – Los Angeles, Purdue University, and the Manhattan School of Music, among many others. This year’s applicants study a variety of disciplines, including science, engineering, math, the humanities, music, and the fine arts.
The 2016/17 award applications also represent the broad national scope of the Foundation’s scholarship program. The Foundation received applications from across the United States, including students from Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Texas, and Vermont, among others.
The Foundation commends our applicants for striving to meet and surpass our high academic standards, and we are looking forward to once again honoring the best and brightest Greek American students in the nation with the PanHellenic Scholarship Awards.
Awards Ceremony & Gala: Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Hilton Chicago
Please save the date! The 2016/17 scholarships will be presented at the Awards Ceremony & Gala on Saturday, June 17, 2017. The gala will be held at the Hilton Chicago, and the evening will be hosted by Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell.
In addition to the scholarship awards ceremony, the Paradigm Award will be presented to an exemplary Greek American who has demonstrated success and expressed strong Hellenic values that reflect the Foundation’s mission, and who will serve as an inspiring example for this year’s scholarship recipients. The Foundation will announce the Paradigm Honoree prior to the gala. We invite you to join us in June to celebrate our exceptional award recipients and Paradigm Honoree!
