Philadelphia, PA – April 10, 2024 – The 2024 Philadelphia Greek Parade, held on April 7th, 2024, marked a joyous celebration of Greek Independence, drawing Greek Americans and AHEPA Family members from across the Mid-Atlantic region. Hosted by the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley, the weekend-long festivities commenced with the ceremonial raising of the Greek Flag in front of City Hall.
The presence of the ceremonial Evzones, the distinguished Presidential Guards of Greece, added a touch of grandeur to the celebration, making it an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Notable figures including His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey, Ambassador of Greece to the US Ekaterini Nassika, Supreme President Tsivicos represented AHEPA, and Dr. Anthony Limberakis, MD, National Commander of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, who was honored with the Federation’s prestigious Eleftheria Award at their Eleftheria Banquet.
Philip Christopher, President of the Pancyprian Association of America, served as the Grand Marshal of Sunday’s Greek Independence Day Parade, further enhancing the spirit of unity and pride among participants.
