The Federation of Cypriot American Organizations held their annual testimonial gala on Friday, September 27th at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows Park, New York.
At this year’s gala, FCAO honored Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos with the prestigious Justice for Cyprus award. The Justice for Cyprus award recognizes an individual who advocates for the just and noble cause of the liberation and reunification of Cyprus and the restoration of human rights for all Cypriots. The Supreme President was recognized for his participation in the efforts of the Greek Cypriot diaspora to contribute to a just and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem.
The FCAO also honored George Logothetis, Executive Chairman of The Libra Group, with their annual Philanthropic Award.
AHEPA members from around the country, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, and His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America were present at this memorable event.
Earlier that evening, the Supreme President presented a check in support of the Independent Social Support Body (ISSB) program in Cyprus to the First Lady of Cyprus. The ISSB program was designed to provide financial assistance to students studying at colleges or universities who would otherwise not be able to complete their studies due to financial hardships. Supreme President Tsivicos was accompanied by members of his Supreme Lodge, DOP Grand President Margaret Dritsas, and Board of Trustees Vice Chairman George G. Horiates, PSP.
