“Everything there is to say about the time of the elections has been said and we have nothing more to add. I understand that when a government is in the third year of its term, the debate intensifies,” government spokesperson Υiannis Εconomou said in an interview with ANT1 on Wednesday about the speculation regarding early elections.
The government spokesperson stressed that the job of the government was to address the problems of the country, to continue the reforms and the policies to support society. “The main issues for the citizens are to be able to cope with the electricity bills, the financial pressure, to find a job, to reduce unemployment,” said Economou.
The government spokesman added that the government stands by everyone and mainly to those who are most in need. “Through the very intensive work that this government has done over the last three years and in spite of the accumulated and successive imported crises that we are handling, major steps have been made to support Greek society and, above all, the most vulnerable,” he said.
