Deputy Minister of Tourism Elena Rapti was a keynote speaker at the Attica Green Expo 2024, where she addressed the roundtable theme “Promoting Sustainable Tourism Beyond Peak Seasons”, on Wednesday.

Rapti emphasized the importance of promoting the sustainability of destinations throughout the year, beyond the usual tourist peak months.

She outlined several initiatives aimed at achieving this goal, including the establishment of the Regional Tourism Council, comprising 13 regional leaders, as a key advisory body to the Minister of Tourism. Additionally, Rapti highlighted efforts to disseminate the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development and the role of the National Observatory.

In her address, Rapti also underscored the significance of financing thematic forms of tourism through the Recovery Fund, specifically mentioning cultural tourism, pilgrimage tourism, agro-tourism, gastronomic tourism, and wine tourism.

Attica Green Expo 2024 will continue until Saturday (June 1), at the Tae Kwon Do Stadium in Paleo Faliro.
