The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) shares with the public the response it has received from Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joseph Biden, Jr. to its 2020 Policy Platform on issues of importance to the Greek American community.

“We sincerely thank the Biden-Harris campaign for responding to the 2020 Policy Platform and addressing the Greek American community’s policy issues,” AHI President Nick Larigakis said. “We are pleased to share it with the community as a matter of voter education.”
AHI submitted the 2020 Policy Platform to each of the presidential campaigns earlier this month. The platform provides policy positions on each of the following issue areas: U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean & Aegean Sea, Frontline States: Greece, Cyprus & Israel; Religious Freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and on Turkey.
“AHI has presented to each of the presidential campaigns a platform of basic policy positions on key issue areas in foreign policy,” President Larigakis said. “We must work as a community to ensure our issues are raised with each of the campaigns and are acknowledged with a response. U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus are strong, and it is in the best interest of the United States that they remain that way, whether in a second Trump term or a new Biden administration.”
