The Director-General of the National Intelligence Service (EYP) Panagiotis Kontoleon resigned on Friday after a series of wrong actions in the lawful listening-in purposes. Kontoleon’s resignation was accepted by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
New chief of EYP was appointed the up to date general secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Themistoklis Demiris.
Demiris will inform the parliament’s Institutions and Transparency Committee after the restart of the parliament’s sessions.
