A new flyover motorway in Thessaloniki will be ready in four years’ time, while the project’s first contruction site will begin works next week, it was noted at an event presented by Transport & Infrastructure Minister Christos Staikouras on Monday.
The motorway will ensure faster, toll-free road traffic, noted Staikouras, who added that central and local authorities will try to minimize the burden of construction on the daily life of the people in Thessaloniki.
The minister also pointed out that construction of the project will be carried out via a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), which foresees 26 years of operation and maintenance plus the 4 years it will take to contstruct it, it was added.
