LADIES PHILOPTOCHOS SOCIETY OF ST. DEMETRIOS GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, BALTIMORE, MD
COOK..LAUGH..EAT & LEARN!
St. Demetrios Philoptochos Society of Baltimore, MD recently hosted a special fundraiser, “Let’s Cook..Fall Flavors”, to support the many charities of Philoptochos. The cooking demonstration was presented by one of the members, Stephanie Apostolou of Tastefully Gourmet Catering, Baltimore, MD.
The 50+ guests were treated to a special holiday menu including a scrumptious beginning to any special event – Pomegranate Champagne Punch served with a Vine Leaf Tart and Kalamata and Greek yogurt hummus followed by a Pear, Walnut and Feta Salad with a creamy fresh cranberry vinaigrette and a phyllo shrimp pizza with butternut squash, bacon, spinach and feta filling. The evening was topped off with a light spiced pumpkin mousse trifle. Guests also received Stephanie’s gourmet granola to sample at home.
Honorary guest, Alexis Limberakis, 1st Vice President, Metropolis of New Jersey Board and Philoptochos President at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church, Broomall, PA attended the fundraiser to support Philoptochos and to surprise her cousin, Stephanie.
A special thank you to Stephanie Apostolou and her assistants for presenting such a yummy, informative and fun evening. Stephanie is planning a new “Let’sCook” evening this spring with a menu to delight even the most critical cooks.
