Elias and Voula Diamantakos, both born in Goranos, Sparta, Greece in 1936 and 1937 respectively, share a remarkable love story that spans over six decades. Childhood friends and neighbors in their small village, their paths diverged when Elias ventured to Canada as a teenager. However, fate brought them back together in America, where they tied the knot in 1963 and chose Binghamton, New York, as their home to build a beautiful family.
Throughout their entire sixty-year marriage, Elias and Voula have become esteemed members of the Binghamton community, known for their unwavering commitment to family values, hard work, and integrity. They lovingly raised three sons, who have now become their cherished daughters-in-law: Jimmy (1963 to 1992), Bill and Maggie, and Peter and Lauri. Additionally, they are proud grandparents to five grandchildren—Demetri, Elias, Lukas, Irene, and Stella.
In their leisure time, Elias and Voula enjoy tending to their garden, actively participating in church activities, and delighting their grandchildren with delicious home-cooked meals. As they celebrate this remarkable milestone, we extend our heartfelt wishes for their continued health, happiness, and many more joyful years together.
May their enduring love story inspire us all to cherish the bonds we hold dear and treasure the moments that truly matter.
