Join us on Thursday, February 22 for a highly anticipated panel discussion that many have asked for and in the news entitled “Blockchain, Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies: The Flight of the Eagle or Icarus” which will be held at the 3 West Club (3 West 51st) at 6 P.M.. Our panel moderator will be James P. Gerkis, Partner at Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm, where he specializes in sophisticated U.S. and global mergers & acquisitions, capital markets and real estate-related transactions. He is a frequent presenter at both business and legal conferences, and has authored various articles relevant to his practice areas. We are excited to have him moderate a panel discussion that will be highly thought provoking, cogent on a timely topic that is constantly in the news but that many know very little about but curious. The panel will include among others:
Arjun Balaji: the Chief Investment Officer at Shomei Capital. He invests in both cryptoassets and early-stage companies. He is a technologist who has worked on early-stage companies, deploying consumer and enterprise software to hundreds of thousands of users. An early investor in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital assets, he’s actively written and spoken on the future of money since 2012. His primary interests are in cryptoeconomic incentive design and building scalable infrastructure in the ecosystem.
Steven Bregman: President and co-founder Horizon Kinetics. He is a senior member of the firm’s research team, a member of the Investment Committee and the Board, and supervises all research reports produced by the firm. Steven and Horizon Kinetics invest in and have published extensive research on cryptocurrencies. Horizon Kinetics manages over $5 billion in assets.
Raphaela Sapire: Associate at Blue Collective. She has recently made investments in a number of blockchain projects. She is focused on cryptocurrency market dynamics and decentralized projects that are building the infrastructure for future applications. Raphaela has seven years of banking and venture investing experience, helping founders transfer technology into products.
