Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will send letters to all members of the UN Security Council and to the UN Secretary General, as well as the secretary general of NATO, in the wake of the unprecedented statements made by Turkish officials’ in recent days, diplomatic sources said on Monday.
The statements made by the Turkish officials, in full, will be attached to these letters.
The Greek side believes that the text of these statements is so absurd in itself that it requires no further comment, the same sources said.
Dendias has already briefed his European partners, including the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell and the United States, on Saturday 3 September.
He also thanked his Czech counterpart Jan Lipavský for the immediate response of the Czech Presidency of EU Council, which described the Turkish statements as ‘unacceptable’ and ‘extremely unhelpful”.
