The deepening of cooperation between Greece and France in agri-food issues was agreed in a meeting between Rural Development and Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis and his French counterpart, Marc Fesneau, held in Paris on Wednesday morning.
Further cooperation between the two countries was agreed to strengthen alliances within the EU that will lead to changes in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which was also the main subject of the meeting. The minister also talked about the operation of the institution of agricultural chambers, in which France has a long tradition.
During the meeting, the ministers agreed on the proposals submitted by Greece for changes to the CAP, especially the four main changes that must be pushed through before the European elections and definitely before the European Commission changes in October. In this context, they agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries within the EUMED-9 group of Mediterranean countries and to undertake coordinated action.
