The Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP), Greece’s superfund, on Friday announced the launch of an international tender for the concession of the right to the management, operation, development, expansion and maintenance of Kalamata International Airport, for a period of 40 years.
In fact, according to estimates, through these investments, the Kalamata airport will be able to welcome an ever-increasing number of passengers, estimated to approach 500,000, much earlier than the end of the current decade.
The main objective is to upgrade, modernise and expand the airport’s infrastructure, especially the terminal. The expansion and upgrading of the infrastructure (terminal, aircraft parking area) is a necessary condition, due to the rapid development of the airport.
