Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias on Tuesday had a meeting with the cruiseship owners union. After the meeting, Kikilias posted on Twitter that he had underlined the tourism ministry’s support for the growth of the cruise sector as Greece can gain considerable added value and build a tourism experience that integrates all forms of tourism. While visiting the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in September, Kikilias had announced that the port of Thessaloniki will serve as a home port and hub for cruise tourism.
In this context, he said that cruises will be enhanced with new tools, through which it will be possible to develop special forms of tourism, such as religious tourism, gastronomic tourism, wine roads, wellness tourism and others.
