Boosting Greece-China collaboration in tourism was the focus of a meeting between Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and the People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Greece Xiao Junzheng on Monday, it was reported on Tuesday.
The implementation of the two countries’ tourism cooperation agreement for the period 2022-2024 was also discussed, as was Greece’s active participation in tourism initiatives of the China-Central & Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Summit.
Another matter underlined was the Chinese ambassador’s request for immediate measures by Greece to speed up visa issuance deadlines in order to facilitate tourist flows.
Greece’s participation in the next China International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) in Guangzhou on September 15-17 was also discussed, as was extending the schedule of direct flights between Athens and Beijing.
