“Our budget surplus is our message to markets,” Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis, said in an interview with the CNBC television network, as part of his visit to Washington to participate in the work of the annual meeting of International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Regarding investments, he stated “we have the most significant increase of the last years. The same applies to exports while unemployment was reduced from 18% to less than 10%.”
Hatzidakis also referred to positive developments regarding GDP growth.
As for competition, he said that “it is key for European growth.”
