Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias said that this summer is the worst summer since data is collected, in terms of fire risk conditions, at a press conference on Wednesday.
He characterised ‘extremely crucial’ the condition of the firefront at Mt. Parnitha. He also said that the firefighting forces responded immediately, in five minutes, when the fire broke out on Tuesday.
Kikilias underlined that 209 forest fires broke out in the last 48 hours while referring to Evros’ major firefront, created by fires that broke out in 15 different spots at the same time, that the causes of the fires are being investigated by the responsible authorities.
