Emmy award-winning actor Kristos Andrews of “The Bay” has paid a moving Father’s Day tribute to his father, Gary Drum. He expressed that he is “grateful for this awesome guy.”

“In my chapter of childhood and well, being ‘raised’ I don’t even recall a time of feeling subject to a sense of unfair or unreasonable nature,” Andrews posted on Instagram. “For this. I acknowledge him deeply. His way of ‘gentle strength’ if I may best describe it.”

“Knowing the value of one’s potential, while knowing the value of one’s ability to be fair, reasonable, peaceful, and thoughtful. No more disciplinary than explanatory and looking at me in an eye-to-eye fashion. I felt the understanding and compassion within any implementation,” he said.

Always inspired a way to proceed with balance, yet encouraging the utmost of faith in life’s possibilities. He’s a 6’3 top athlete in school and martial arts etc; could easily have decided to be some ‘tough guy’ but if you know him you’ll understand the peace and gentleness I’m talking about.

“His life consisted of moments of triumph as well as severe hardship, but with that, I can observe he found a way to bring in a great potency of value for the ‘light’ which to hold steady to ongoingly and to share. I feel he put this encouragement toward me even beyond what he willed himself. An act of healing in the initial chapter of life; within him, such a healing nature is deeply rooted,” Andrews elaborated.

Andrews remarked, “He wouldn’t let up on gently encouraging the best in me; gently allowing whatever it may be, to unfold in whichever form it may, and encouraging that form, out of his love from father to son. He even encouraged if there was no decision to make between one passion and another, then continue both. I appreciated this sense of yielding one’s own opinion or arbitration through authority; and more so an allowance toward my individuality and independent tread in life. So long as a tread was happening, he supported the movement.”

“And today, he is a solid friend in which I may trust, confide in, and share some great laughs. Always bringing warmth into the holiday times, and all times. I still learn and grow every time we spend moments together,” Andrews added.

Grateful to have this amazing father. And one who has given me already an amazing blueprint for when I’m a dad myself. Love you, dad,” Andrews concluded.
